Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Pawsomely collects when you visit pawsomely.shop or place an order, why we need it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what choices you have. Pawsomely is a small online shop for personalized pet gifts, and we collect only what we need to make and deliver your order and to look after you afterwards. If you have a question about your data, email support@pawsomely.shop.

The business responsible for your information is Pawsomely, 67 Melrose Ave, Lynbrook, NY 11563, US.

Privacy at a glance

  • What we collect: contact and delivery details, order details, the personalization you write in the order notes (pet names, dates, messages) and any pet photos you send us.
  • Why: to make, ship and support your order, and to keep the shop secure.
  • Pet photos: used only to make your item and deleted 30 days after delivery.
  • Payment card details: handled by the payment provider at checkout, never stored by us.
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • Your rights: ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time by email.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Order and contact details: your name, email address, billing address, shipping address and, if you enter one, a phone number for the carrier.
  • Personalization: whatever you type in the order notes box at checkout, such as your pet’s name, dates, a short message or a gift note. Sometimes this includes information about a pet that has passed away; we treat it with care.
  • Photos: pet photos you email to us or share through a link in your order notes, for photo designs.
  • Messages: what you write to us by email or through the Submit Ticket page, including any photos of a damaged item.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your login email and a password, which is stored in encrypted form.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited, recorded in standard server logs that help us keep the site running and secure.
  • Cookies: small files that keep your cart and login working (see section 4).

Information from others

When a payment provider is connected at checkout, it tells us whether a payment succeeded and may give us limited details such as the payer’s name and address. Carriers may send us delivery status updates for your parcel. If someone orders a gift for you, we receive your name and shipping address from them.

3. How we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only the parts they need:

  • Production and fulfilment partners who make and pack your item receive the personalization, photo and shipping details for your order.
  • Shipping carriers receive the recipient’s name, address and, when provided, phone number.
  • Payment providers process your payment at checkout under their own privacy policies. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Hosting, email and website service providers store and transmit data on our behalf to keep the shop and support inbox running.
  • Authorities when the law requires it, for example customs information for international parcels or a valid legal request.

These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

pawsomely.shop uses cookies that are necessary for the shop to work: they remember the items in your cart, keep you logged in if you have an account and help protect checkout from abuse. Our website software may also use cookies to remember your preferences and to serve pages faster. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout may not work properly without them. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in the future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep information

Retention periods
InformationHow long we keep it
Pet photos you send for an orderDeleted 30 days after your order is delivered
Order records (items, prices, addresses, order notes)As long as needed for accounting, tax and legal obligations
Support emails and ticketsAs long as needed to resolve your request and handle follow-up questions
Customer accountsUntil you ask us to close the account
Server logsA limited period needed for security and troubleshooting

The 30-day photo rule gives you time to receive your gift and ask for a remake if something is not right, without us holding on to your pet photos any longer than necessary. If you would like a photo deleted sooner, email us and we will delete it once your item has been made.

6. How we protect information

The site runs over HTTPS so information is encrypted between your browser and our servers. Access to order data is limited to people and providers who need it to fulfil and support orders. Account passwords are stored in encrypted form. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password for your account and never send card numbers or passwords by email. We will never ask you for them.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law;
  • object to or restrict certain uses, or withdraw consent you gave earlier;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • complain to a data protection authority in your country.

Residents of US states with privacy laws, such as California, have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information in that sense. To use any of these rights, email support@pawsomely.shop from the email address on your order. We may ask a simple question to confirm it is really you, and we respond within the time the law allows. We will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

8. Children’s privacy

pawsomely.shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International visitors and transfers

Pawsomely is based in the United States and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. We deliver to Canada, Australia and New Zealand as well as the United States. When information about customers outside the United States is processed in the US, we rely on our providers’ safeguards and use it only for the purposes in this policy. Privacy laws in your country, such as Canada’s PIPEDA, Australia’s Privacy Act or New Zealand’s Privacy Act, may give you additional rights; we respect them.

10. Information about other people and pets

When you order a gift for someone else, you give us their name and address. Please only do so when you are comfortable they would expect it, for example for a birthday present. Information about pets is not personal information on its own, but names, dates and photos can still be sensitive, especially for memorial gifts. We handle them with the same care as your own details.

11. Emails we send you

When you order, we send transactional emails: the order confirmation, any question about your personalization, the shipping email and replies to your support requests. These are part of the service and are sent even if you have not subscribed to anything. We only send marketing emails, such as news about new designs, if you have clearly agreed to receive them, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing does not affect emails about an order you have placed.

12. Photos of damaged items and support attachments

If you send us photos of a chipped mug, a crushed box or a misprinted name, we use them only to assess and resolve your claim, and where needed to show a carrier or production partner what went wrong. These photos are kept with your support conversation for as long as needed to resolve the request and any follow-up questions about it. Please crop out anything you would rather not share, such as people’s faces or other addresses on the parcel.

13. Social media and reviews

Pawsomely does not currently run social media accounts linked from this site. If you leave a product review on pawsomely.shop after a verified purchase, the name you choose and your review text are shown publicly next to the product. You can ask us to edit or remove your review at any time by email.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will make it clear on this page before it takes effect.

15. Contact us
