Copyright takedown notices follow the formal process on our DMCA page; this page covers the wider picture, including trademarks, brand names, characters and the personalization you send us.
\n
\n
At a glance
\n
\n
Ours: the Pawsomely name and paw-print logo, our website design, text, original product designs and product photos.
\n
Yours: the photos and words you send for personalization stay yours; we use them only to make your order.
\n
Not accepted: other brands’ logos, sports team marks, cartoon or film characters, celebrity images and artwork you do not have permission to use.
\n
Report a concern: email support@pawsomely.shop with “IP concern” in the subject.
\n
Response: we reply within 24 hours on business days and act promptly on valid reports.
\n
\n
\n
1. Our intellectual property
\n
Unless stated otherwise, everything on pawsomely.shop is owned by Pawsomely or used with permission. That includes:
\n
\n
the name “Pawsomely” and our logo, in which a paw print replaces the letter “o”;
\n
the design, layout, colours and look of the website;
\n
product descriptions, guides, policies, FAQs and other text;
\n
original artwork, lettering and layouts used on our ornaments, doormats, mugs, blankets and keepsakes;
\n
product photos and illustrations created for the shop.
\n
\n
Sample pet names and sample photos on product pages are there to show how a design looks. They are part of our product presentation and are not offered for reuse.
\n
2. What you may do
\n
\n
Browse the site and buy products for your own use or as gifts.
\n
Share links to our pages on social media, by email or in messages.
\n
Post photos of a Pawsomely gift you bought or received, for example your cat sitting on its new blanket. We love seeing them.
\n
Quote a short part of our pages with a link back to the source, for example in a review or a blog post about pet gifts.
\n
Print or save a policy page for your personal records.
\n
\n
3. What you may not do
\n
\n
Copy our product designs, product photos or text to sell similar products, on any website or marketplace.
\n
Use the Pawsomely name or logo in a way that suggests you are us, work with us or are endorsed by us.
\n
Scrape, download in bulk or republish large parts of the site.
\n
Remove watermarks, copyright notices or credits from any content.
\n
Use our content to train or feed automated systems that generate competing products or listings.
\n
\n
If you want to use our content in a way not listed above, ask first. We answer permission requests by email and may say yes to things like press coverage, school projects or a rescue charity’s newsletter.
\n
Teachers, rescues and shelters sometimes ask whether they can show our designs in a fundraising flyer or a class presentation. Usually the answer is yes, with a credit and a link; just ask first so we can say so in writing.
\n
4. Our trademarks
\n
“Pawsomely” and the paw-print logo are used by us as trademarks for our shop and products, whether or not they are registered. Please do not use them, or names and logos confusingly similar to them, for other products, shops, domains or social media accounts. If you write about us, you are welcome to mention “Pawsomely” by name as long as it is clear you are not us.
\n
5. Respecting other people’s rights in personalized gifts
\n
Because every Pawsomely gift is personalized from what you write in the order notes box, we also have to be careful about what we put on a product. We do not produce items that include:
\n
\n
logos or names of brands, companies or products (for example a pet food brand or a car maker);
\n
sports team names, logos, mascots or league marks;
\n
characters from cartoons, films, games or books, or close imitations of them;
\n
photos of celebrities or public figures;
\n
photos or artwork you did not create and do not have permission to use, such as a professional portrait without the photographer’s permission or an image found online;
\n
song lyrics, poems or long quotes that are still under copyright.
\n
\n
Your pet’s name, your family name, dates, your own short messages and photos you took yourself are exactly what we are made for. A name that happens to match a brand, for example a dog called “Oreo” or a cat called “Mochi”, is of course fine as a pet name. What we cannot reproduce is a brand’s logo, style of lettering or packaging.
\n
If your personalization includes something we cannot produce, we email you before starting, suggest an alternative and, if you prefer, cancel the order with a full refund issued within 7 days.
\n
6. Your content stays yours
\n
When you send us a photo or text for personalization, you keep all rights to it. You give us a limited permission to use it to make, ship and support your order, including sharing it with our production partners for that purpose. We do not use your pet’s photo or name in advertising, on our website or on social media unless you give us separate written permission. Pet photos are deleted 30 days after delivery, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
\n
7. How to report an intellectual property concern
\n
If you believe something on pawsomely.shop, or a product we made, infringes your trademark, copyright or other intellectual property rights, email support@pawsomely.shop with the subject “IP concern” and include:
\n
\n
your name, the rights owner’s name (if different) and how to contact you;
\n
a description of the right you hold, such as a registered trademark number and country, or details of your copyrighted work;
\n
the URL of the page or a description of the product concerned;
\n
a short explanation of why you believe it infringes your rights;
\n
a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights owner or authorised to act for them.
\n
\n
For copyright claims that you want handled under the DMCA, please use the format on our DMCA page. You can also write by post to Pawsomely, 67 Melrose Ave, Lynbrook, NY 11563, US.
\n
8. What happens next
\n
\n
How we handle intellectual property reports
\n
\n
\n
Stage
\n
What we do
\n
Timing
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Acknowledgement
\n
Confirm we have your report and ask for anything missing
\n
Within 24 hours on business days
\n
\n
\n
Review
\n
Locate the page or product and compare it with the right you describe
\n
As quickly as possible
\n
\n
\n
Action
\n
Remove the page or design, stop producing affected orders, or explain why we believe no infringement exists
\n
Promptly after review
\n
\n
\n
Follow-up
\n
Tell you what we did, and inform any customer whose order is affected
\n
When action is complete
\n
\n
\n
\n
If a customer’s order is affected, we contact them, explain the change and offer an alternative design or a full refund.
\n
9. Ideas and feedback
\n
We love hearing ideas for new designs, from “a doormat for three dachshunds” to “an ornament for a bunny”. If you send us an idea or suggestion, you agree that we may use it freely, without obligation to you, unless we agree otherwise in writing before you share it. Please do not send us confidential designs or artwork you want to keep exclusive; if you are a designer who wants to work with us, email first and we will discuss terms.
\n
10. Questions customers ask
\n
Can I put my dog’s photo from a professional photo shoot on a blanket?
\n
Yes, if the photographer has given you permission to reproduce it. Many photographers include printing rights with a session, and some are happy to give permission by email. If you are not sure, ask them first, or send us a photo you took yourself.
\n
Can you add my favourite team’s logo next to my dog’s name?
\n
No. Team names and logos belong to the team or league. We can use your team’s colours as a background where the design allows, along with your pet’s name.
\n
Can I sell items I bought from Pawsomely?
\n
You own the physical product you bought and can give it away or sell it second-hand. You may not reproduce our designs to make and sell new items.
\n
Can I use a quote from a famous book on a memorial ornament?
\n
Short, common phrases such as “forever in our hearts” or “run free” are fine. Longer passages from books, poems or songs that are still protected by copyright are not something we can reproduce. If you are not sure, write the text in your order notes and we will tell you before production if it is a problem.
\n
My cat looks like a famous cartoon cat. Can you draw her in that style?
\n
We can put your cat’s own photo or name on a design, but we cannot recreate a copyrighted character or copy a studio’s drawing style closely enough to look like that character.
\n
Can I use your product photos on my blog post about pet gifts?
\n
Please link to our product page instead of copying the photo. If you would like to show an image, email us; we often say yes for non-commercial articles when the image is credited and linked.
\n
I saw a shop selling a design that looks exactly like yours. What should I do?
\n
Thank you for looking out for us. Send us the link and we will review it. We cannot comment on other shops’ products, but your report helps us protect the designs our customers chose.
\n
Do you register designs or names?
\n
Rights in our original designs, text and photos exist automatically when they are created. Whether any mark is registered does not change how we ask others to respect it, and we ask the same respect for everyone else’s rights.
\n
11. Why we take this seriously
\n
A personalized gift is personal twice over: it carries your pet’s name, and it carries a design someone worked hard on. Respecting intellectual property protects the artists and photographers whose work makes gifts beautiful, protects you from receiving something that has to be withdrawn later, and keeps Pawsomely a place where every design can be ordered with confidence. When we decline a request, it is never about doubting you; it is about making sure the item you receive is one we are allowed to make.
\n
12. Permission requests and contact
\n
For permission to use our content, IP reports or questions about this policy, email support@pawsomely.shop.
